Jetsettersblog A 'Crafty' August Bank Holiday At The National .

With the May Bank Holidays now complete and the Royal wedding a distant memory, it is time to face ahead to the Grand Bank Holiday with the launching of a new Wood Fair Short Break.

The National Forest Wood Fair has teamed up with Leicester Shire Promotions and the stunning four-star Quorn Country Hotel to provide a tremendous short break over the Bank Holiday weekend from 28-29 August 2011.

Visitors can love a check including luxurious double or twin accommodation, breakfast for two and tickets to The National Forest Wood Fair (Monday 29 August) from just 99.

The Forest Fair features fantastic woodland crafts and celebrates the better of the great outdoors. There will be an exciting lumberjack show, longbow displays, charity auction, live demonstrations, chainsaw sculpting and a prospect to give a go.

The new short break offer can be booked online through the post new site at www.myforestholiday.com. The new website has been produced by Leicester Shire Promotions and the National Forest Company, and features information on places to stay, events and things to do, and other data for visitors to The National Forest.

The Forest Fair is organized by the Interior Forest Company and Leicestershire County Council. Sophie Churchill, Chief Executive of the National Forest Company, said: We are charmed to work with Leicester Shire Promotions and the Quorn Country Hotel to establish this great value short break offer. The Forest Fair is a brilliant family day out but there is so much more to see and do across the area. This short break means that visitors can have a weekend of it and trust their sojourn with a travel to Conkers, Snibston, Calke Abbey, the National Memorial Arboretum or one of the other quality visitor attractions that we get here.

Martin Peters, Chief Executive of Leicester Shire Promotions, said: As the report of The National Forest as a visitor attraction continues to grow, events and activities such as the Wood Fair are increasingly attracting visitors from Leicestershire and farther afield. This new short break offer has been launched alongside our new site at www.myforestholidays.com and provides people with an ideal opportunity to have some of the highlights of The National Forest area.

Janet Grove from Quorn Country Hotel said: The National Forest Wood Fair has become such a large event, we are charmed to extend this short break promotion to promote more mass to make the most of their call to the area.

Held at Beacon Hill State Park near Woodhouse Eaves, the Forest Fair is now in its 7th year, and only gets larger and better. Beacon Hill State Park lies inside the ancient forest of Charnwood and is near to the attractive village of Woodhouse Eaves, just 5 minutes ride from Junctions 22 or 23 of the M1. The State Park, owned and managed by Leicestershire County Council, with its craggy summit and fantastic views, is but one of the many visitor attractions across the three counties that build up The National Forest.
